School Meals

All meals must be pre-booked by parents/Carers, via ParentPay. All school meals will be paid for in advance through the booking system. You need to have booked by Wednesday evening at 9pm for the upcoming week, or you will need to provide a home packed lunch.

From September 2026, government rules for free school meals have expanded. Your child may get a free school meal if you receive Universal Credit.
There are now two benefit-related categories:
  • Targeted Free School Meals: For households receiving Universal Credit with annual net earnings of £7,400 or less.
  • Expanded Free School Meals: A new category for households receiving Universal Credit with earnings above £7,400.
Note for Infants: All children in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 still automatically receive Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM) regardless of family income.

Is My Child Eligible for Free School Meals?

Your child may qualify for free school meals if you receive certain benefits. Any parent or carer in England can check here, even if your child's school isn't signed up. It's free to use (run by LGfL, an education charity) and you'll get an instant result checked securely against government records

Qualifying benefits include

  • Universal Credit
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • The guaranteed element of Pension Credit
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • Child Tax Credit (if not receiving Working Tax Credit)
  • Working Tax Credit run-on
  • Conditions apply to some benefits – the quickest way to find out is to run a check.
Parents and Guardians can check their eligibility online via the link below. A Certificate of Eligibility is available through the website for any child eligible for a free school meal attending the school. This Certificate of Eligibility should be taken to the school, along with any supporting evidence, and the school will register your claim for Free School Meals.

Why You Should Still Apply / Register
Important: Extra Funding for the School (Pupil Premium)

Even if your child receives a free meal through universal infant provision or the new expanded Universal Credit criteria, please still complete our registration form if you receive qualifying benefits.

Registering gives our school extra funding called Pupil Premium. We use this money to support learning and provide extra equipment and help for our pupils.

Please contact school office if you do not have your login.

Hot school meals are available for children in Key Stage 2, at a cost of £2.90 per day.

There will be no payment added on Parent Pay, just choose your meal option. There is no need to book anything if you are giving your child a packed lunch.

In class the children will tell their teachers if they are having a hot dinner, or packed lunch.
